Synchronizer slider used in the synchronizer part of a commercial vehicle transmission . The synchronizer slider plays the role of pushing the synchronization ring (copper ring) to contact with the gear binding teeth at the initial stage of gear shifting, and makes the copper ring rotate at a specific Angle through friction to complete gear shifting
one.
The specific role of the synchronizer slider is to make the copper ring rotate through friction, so as to match the speed of the gear and the shaft, and avoid the impact and noise when shifting. It ensures that during shifting, the coupling sleeve and the spline gear ring to be engaged do not contact until they are synchronized, thus avoiding the impact between the teeth
one.
In commercial vehicles, synchronizer is usually composed of gear sleeve, slide block, lock block, gear ring and other components, of which the gear ring is the core component, with the advantages of friction resistance, impact resistance, high strength, used to complete the shift operation .

Inspecting the synchronizer slider of a car typically requires the following equipment and their functions:
1. Micrometer: Used to measure the gap between the synchronizer slider and the sides of the synchronizer hub’s recess. The limit is 0.25 millimeters; if exceeded, the slider needs to be replaced.
2. Dial Indicator (or Dial Gauge): Used to measure the swing of the synchronizer hub, i.e., the side clearance between the synchronizer hub and the shaft. The limit is 0.12 millimeters; if exceeded, the synchronizer hub should be replaced.
3. Vise: Used to secure the shaft so that the synchronizer hub can be rotated and its swing measured during inspection.
4. Visual Inspection Equipment: Used to inspect the dimensions and shape of the synchronizer slider to ensure it meets design specifications.
5. Symmetry Degree Inspection Device: Used to check the symmetry of the synchronizer hub slider slot to ensure its precision and performance.
6. Spring Force Gauge: Used to test the spring force of the synchronizer slider, which is crucial for ensuring the working performance of the synchronizer.
7. Slider Thrust Inspection Device: Used to simulate the working conditions of the transmission gear shift, collecting data on the force applied to the synchronizer assembly slider and the resulting displacement, improving measurement efficiency.
These devices collectively ensure the performance and quality of the synchronizer slider, which is essential for the normal operation of the car’s transmission.
